Ultrasonic Welding
Dimension 3 Plastics uses high frequency equipment to join thermoplastics. By converting high frequency energy with pressure to create friction. So, where the two plastic surfaces meet this friction melts the plastics to form a strong molecular bond. Ultrasonic Welding is an efficient, cost-effective way of joining plastics that are hard or impossible to glue due to incompatible materials.
There are many advantages to using ultrasonic welding. It is a clean, efficient, and repeatable process. It produces clean, durable bonds while consuming very little energy. Further, no adhesives, solvents, fasteners, or external heat are needed. Because of the speed of the welding process, we can cycle assembled parts quickly. Once completed, assemblies are strong and clean.
We weld tubing to create swages to trap threaded caps. We also weld plastic materials together using an ultrasonic spot weld. This is very effective on thinner gauge plastics like PETG which degrade in appearance when solvent glued.
One of our goals is to offer solutions that get the job done right and at a lower cost then our competitors. Contact us here for further information about how Ultrasonic Welding works and how it could help your products.
